Faye~ YOU ROCK!

I think we can all agree THE Carolina Stitcher ROCKS!  I have enjoyed receiving Faye's packages this year.  I'm just sorry that this year has come to an end.  Thank you so much Faye!

I realized when I came to this blog to post about the package I received today that I didn't post the Autumn exchange.  Boy, do I feel like a fool.  So sorry Faye, the exchange I received in the Autumn round was FAB!
Faye and I at the Pals Fall Fling in October.
Faye personally delivered my exchange in Myrtle Beach.

Look at this GORGEOUS hand-stained box she labored over.

The containers inside were also hand-stained.
Inside the containers were finishing trinkets and lots of pretties.

The Winter Round

I received this package in the mail today.
Once again, Faye out does herself.

In the package:  a cute primitive Christmas pillow, a huge piece of linen, a mother of pearl thread winder, multi colored jingle bells, a notepad, the cutest-est zipper pouch, and 3 foil Christmas cut outs.

Faye~I've thoroughly enjoyed your exchanges this year and will cherish the pieces you've stitched.....ALWAYS!

Merry Christmas,
Diane

My Autumn piece and all the goodies from the Autumn and Christmas exchnage

The beautiful christmas ornament, of course it went up on the tree right away.

Thank you again Kim :)

Fall Exchange From Karen!

Did I mention I'm behind on everything?! Because I am...!

I got this beautiful exchange from Karen weeks and weeks ago and am just now getting around to posting a picture of it!

This sweet little pillow has been on my mantel all autumn. Karen's finishing is second-t0-none! It's really beautiful. And the goodies have been delved into since their arrival! She sent beautiful fabric quarters, fibers in gorgeous and vibrant fall colors, a dish towel, needles, and a glow-in-the-dark jack-o-lantern Pez dispenser that my 2 kids took off with all tucked inside a leaf dish! I love fall colors and this was just overflowing with them!

Thank you so much Karen!! And I am genuinely sorry it took me so long to finally post about it. It's been on my t0-do list for much too long!

Better Late than Never!

I am SO BEHIND on everything right now! Oh my gosh, it's November! How did that happen?!

So this baby - IT'S A BOY! - is due 3 weeks from today and I my life feels so crazy. Besides baby Evan being on the way, my 5-year-old son starting kindergarten (our first grade schooler - I never would have guessed elementary school makes life even more hectic) and I have too much on my plate. But sweet Natasha is the most patient, most wonderful woman in the world and has repeatedly showered me with "it's okay" and "get it in the mail whenever you have time" and "no rush" and "no worries!" I'm so thankful for her patience!

But I'm here to say that I have OFFICIALLY mailed my fall exchange to Natasha! 2 months late, but it's on its way! And it also has my winter exchange for her too so that one she's getting a few weeks early! I'm not sure that makes up for a 2-month delay, but hey it's something!

Thank you so much Natasha for being so gracious and understanding. I am so grateful!

A Public Apology

I pride myself on my promptness.  I'm the kind of person that will arrive at least 15 minutes earlier than I'm supposed to.  I hate to be late.  I still live by my high school marching band's motto "Early is on time, On time is late."

With the craziness of life right now I have not been as prolific a stitcher as I normally am and as a result my exchange stitching has really suffered.  I did manage to stitch my piece, but it is still siting on the finishing table.

All this to say........

I'M SORRY FAYE!!!!

I promise I will get your package to you soon.  Worst case I'll just have to bring it to you in Myrtle Beach.

Thanks for understanding!

I got prior approval.........

Greetings everyone~~~ Still hotter than you know what here....they "say" it might be cooler by the weekend.....Crossin' my fingers~~

I emailed my buddy pal and friend Diane a few weeks back and asked if I could PLEASE bring her Fall exchange to the PALS retreat next month....She politely granted me permission!!!!...So, you guys will have to wait a few more weeks to see what I am making for her~~~

Happy stitching to you all~~~

Hi Ladies

I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer. Hard to believe that it is already August and fall will be here before ya know it.
I wanted to make a quick post to let everyone know that I deleted my blog. I have not been in the stitching mood for some time and just felt that instead of forcing myself to update it, it was best to quit it all together. I am still stitching for my partner though, but really that is all I have been doing.
I just don't have the desire to do it right know. Maybe it will come back maybe it will not, I guess only time will tell.
I do still read everyone else's blogs though and smile at all the lovely stitching you all are doing.
Take care and have a lovely day!

Summer Exchange from Karen

I got my package in the mail on Wednesday night from Karen and it was brimming with summer goodness!

It all came beautifully wrapped in little cellophane bags with red, white, and blue ribbon. I had to get a picture of the lovely presentation before opening the little bags.

And here's the whole kit and kaboodle on display:

Karen stitched up Summer House from LHN. I love the fuzzy trim! And she sent along a sweet little bowl (perfect for containing all those pesky ORTs if you ask me), a pair of patriotic socks, 2 beautiful fat quarters, 3 skeins of summery threads, 2 pads of paper (DS is eying the bumble bee pad), and a tub of delicious smelling coconut body butter! I LOVE all things coconut scented and this is even a little shimmery so my legs are going to be looking and smelling great all summer!

Thank you Karen! Getting this was a real treat in the middle of what has been a long and arduous week.

While we're on the subject of packages I figure I'll go ahead and let everyone in the group know that I'm working on a package of my own these days. I'm pregnant with our third little offspring. I'm due December 7th so I am already getting a big headstart on my fall and winter exchanges for Natasha so they will be ready to go even if my life gets a little crazier by the mailing dates. I'm planning ahead so I don't fall behind! Here's an ultrasound pic of the little one at 7 weeks (I'm 16 weeks now). He/she looks like a little toad to me in this pic. Hopefully by our 20 week ultrasound he/she will be looking a less amphibious :)

Thanks Karen for a super summer package! It was a real delight!!

She totally outdid herself~~~

I will let the pictures speak for themselves~~

Isn't this about the cutest Patriotic strawberry you have ever seen???
And she has already found her new home..............

front and center in my Patriotic basket...

Thanks Jennifer for helping kick off my summer so nicely~~

Faye

I'm Late! Sorry Natasha!

Natasha,
I am so very sorry. This whole week has gotten away from me as the kids and I have been totally focused on getting ready for Father's Day and we've had so much going on (people flying in from out of town, church workshops, etc). I completely forgot the mail date was looming and your box is still sitting unsealed, unaddressed, and unready for its trip to the post office. Clearly someone (ahem, me) needs to better mark these things on the family calendar so they don't pass without my realizing it! Last night the feeling that I was forgetting something just washed over me and then it hit me like a ton of bricks that Wednesday was our mail date. I will get to the post office sometime in the next day or 2. I am so so sorry.

Spring Has Sprung! Exchange from Karen!!

I got my spring exchange from my mystery partner - Karen - on Monday! I would have posted sooner but Cuddle Bug suddenly came down with a fever and before I knew it I was thinking to myself "what is that nagging feeling I have that I was supposed to do something..." So without further delay, check it out:

Karen stitched Eat, Sleep, Stitch by Cherry Wood Designs for me and finished it into a darling little pillow. How perfect is the finishing fabric for this design?!

She also included a tin of mints, 2 skeins of Needle Necessities, beautiful blue finishing fabric, green-blue ric rac, and a needleminder and pins that she made herself. Here are close-ups of the needleminder and pins. Aren't the lovely?

I am pleased to report that it has been gorgeous here the past few days! We got a taste of spring. I told Karen I think she must have packed some beautiful Arizona sunshine in with this exchange! Unfortunately, DH is reporting that we are supposed to have highs in the 40s for the next few days. Oh well :)

Love seeing everyone else's packages coming in!! Happy spring stitchers!!
-Kim

Thank you Kim B.

Kim thank you for a beautiful ornament I just adore the lace on the back. And nope I do not have that BBD :) And I look forward to planting the seeds in that cute bucket. We are having awful rain and gray skies right now so I will have to wait to take some photos when I have better lighting.
Thank you again

Thanks sooo much Natasha! I love it!

Spring is Here!

And blogger is finally cooperating.  I've been trying to show off my goodies for the last two days!

Take a look at all the wonderful package that arrived from Nan/Diane........

She stitched up not one, but two beautiful Prairie Schooler designs.  And her finishes......well they are amazing in themselves.  Come, take a closer look!

These cute little guys are now hanging out on the fireplace mantle where the Christmas/Hanukkah Stockings usually hang.  I love the bit of Spring that they bring to the room.

Oh, and by the way Diane, I manage to hide the chocolate from my Hubby and I was able to eat it before he found it. LOL!

Thanks again!  I'm really looking forward to June!

I said a big "YIPPPEEE" when I called home and they said I have an exchange package that came in the mail.....

Faye's Exchange Arrived Wednesday!
Me being the bone head that I am posted on my blog but forgot to post here.  Do you ever wonder where your mind is?  I think mine takes way too many "coffee" breaks.
So,
Without further ado.....feast your eyes on this wonderful exchange Faye sent.

Faye stitched Tis Red by La D DA from the JCS ornament issue and finished it into a cutie patootie pincushion with the most unique trim.  She included some great goodies in the package.  A stitcher's journal with matching note cards, her favorite batting, finishing fabric and ribbon, fibers and organizer bags.
Her "green" theme will be well used.  I appreciate all the time and effort you put into this exchange Faye!

I'm Excited!

Hi everyone!

For those of you who do not already know me, I'm Jennifer from Confessions of a Serial Starter.  I was so honored when Karen asked me to join in on the fun.  I knew that I couldn't turn this opportunity down!

Yesterday Karen sent me my partner for the exchange.  I'm a little apprehensive about who I ended up with.  My partner is an amazing woman whose blog I've been following for some time.  Her stitching and finishing is absolutely amazing!  While I have been stitching for years, I have only just recently begun finishing.  I just hope she can overlook this semi-beginner's finishing skills!

I've got several designs in mind for our first exchange.  If only I can whittle it down to the right one.......

Thanks for the invite Karen.  I can't wait to see everyone's wonderful work.

Happy Stitching!

Jennifer
